For the rest of 2010 we made book choices on a month to month basis. It was fine to do it that way, but it tends to work out that the most proactive people will get to read the books they want to read. The girls would come prepared with a suggestion and if they didn’t, I’d offer a book choice — it wasn’t particularly democratic. The books we read for the remaining months of 2010 were as follows:
Looking for Salvation at the Dairy Queen by Susan Greg Gilmore
Sarah’s Key by Tatiana de Rosnay
One Crazy Summer by Rita Williams Garcia
The Help by Katherine Stockett
I Know This Much is True by Wally Lamb
And She Was by Cindi Dyson
The Christmas Train by David
After limping through 2010 a month at a time, we decided it was time to make a year of choices. Melissa had been doing some undercover work, spying on other book clubs and saw a book mark filled with a year of books the club would read. I jumped on the idea. Details of that first full year of books can be found in the post Our First Bookmark, 2011.
